Press Release: Seneca College Esthetics & Spa Therapies Students Now Using Glomalin Skincare Line
Seneca College Esthetics & Spa Therapies Students Now Using Glomalin Skincare Line
ORANGEVILLE, ON December 10, 2020 — Glomalin, located in Dufferin County, is the first organic skincare line to be incorporated into Seneca College’s Esthetics & Spa Therapies Program. Demand from students and clients has increased for natural and organic products as part of their skincare and body care needs. Angella Hughes, Glomalin Owner, is honoured that her products are helping educate future estheticians and providing an introduction to holistic skincare.
Handing out samples at trade shows has been the key to Angella’s success. Seneca College Esthetics & Spa Therapies Director, discovered Glomalin at a spa show in Toronto. From using her first sample, she quickly became a loyal customer. She now uses Glomalin as part of her own skincare regime.
Students have been asking to learn about natural products as part of their education. With the increasing demand for organic and sustainable skincare products, the students felt it was a critical aspect of their education to help future clients. Both men and women are using high-performance skincare that comprises organic ingredients. Consumers are mindful of their own skincare needs and have a conscientiousness towards our planet. Seneca’s Program Director also felt it was a valuable component for the education of her students and reached out to Angella to obtain products for the school.
For Angella, this is also sentimental development for her company as she is an Electrical Engineering Technology Graduate from Seneca College, class of 1984. “After over 30 years in the tech industry, with 20 years in water remediation, I understood that one avenue available to clean up the environment was to not pollute in the first place. The use of organically grown botanicals in our formulations means that we are contributing to sustainable agricultural practices which leave a much lighter footprint on the earth’s ecosystems”
Angella is celebrating her company’s fourth anniversary this December. There has been a huge growth in her business over the past four years. She currently produces in small batches, but with the increasing demand for her products, she is planning to embark on a new production facility in the near future. Through COVID-19, her online store has thrived and her customer base has increased across North America.
Glomalin was born out of the idea that our skin is porous and about 60% of what we put on it enters our body. With this idea in mind, Glomalin develops skincare and personal care products that are derived from as many organic and natural ingredients as possible without adding synthetic chemicals and preservatives.
